Position Overview

Lead the central account unit of the bank and provide budgetary and accounting support for the Head of Operations. This role offers an excellent platform for professional development.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and allocate work of the central account unit to ensure all tasks are assigned and completed within prescribed timescales
• Manage and ensure reconciliation of all internal accounts of the bank (ACHCCC, Ghana Pay, etc.)
• Manage payroll and utilities of the bank
• Monitor and contribute to preparation of financial reports, including weekly and monthly reports, annual accounts, and budget preparation
• Manage fixed assets and tenancy agreements of the bank
• Identify training and development requirements within the Central Account unit and ensure these are met
• Arrange and conduct training on accounting or financial systems issues as required
• Work with audit, tax, and other regulatory bodies to ensure overall coordination of financial accounting activities through monthly or annual reports
• Prepare half-yearly summary feedback of financial statements variances from budget
• Actively review and advise management on financial and accounting processes

Required Qualifications and Experience

• First Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Banking with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a related role
• Current membership with any of the following professional bodies: ICA, ACCA, or CIMA

Knowledge and Competencies

• Proficiency in T24 banking software and other banking applications
• Central Accounts Banking Operations and Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS, BASEL, and other related standards)
• Accounting and banking principles and procedures
• Tax laws and related regulations
• Bank of Ghana regulations, directives, and other regulatory frameworks
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
