Electrical Engineer at Scientific Research Corporation

Position Overview

Scientific Research Corporation seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide comprehensive engineering and construction quality assurance oversight for the Accra Densification Project. This full-time position in Accra, Ghana involves renovation and fit-out work, with responsibilities spanning technical inspection, contractor management, and project oversight.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance tasks, including inspection of contractor work and implementation of corrective actions
• Verify that materials meet contract specifications and resolve any compliance conflicts
• Review contractor submittals for compliance with contract requirements
• Monitor the construction contractor's quality assurance and safety programs
• Conduct onsite observations to ensure construction elements are installed, formed, and executed properly
• Monitor construction progress against the project schedule and submit weekly progress reports with technical recommendations
• Perform technical inspections of electrical elements and electrical work throughout the project
• Review and monitor the contractor's quality control program
• Review project drawings and specifications to ensure electrical compliance with design documents
• Support the project office in ensuring completion in accordance with all contract requirements
• Read and interpret design/construction drawings and understand design narratives and calculations
• Review engineering shop drawings to verify contractor compliance with final design parameters
• Interpret drawings and technical specifications accurately

Requirements

• Construction experience preferred
• Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems
• Knowledge of Mechanical Systems
• Strong technical inspection and quality assurance capabilities
