About the Role

Matrix Agroscience is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the company's financial operations and support strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with Ghanaian regulatory requirements, and supporting the financial health of a growing agribusiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and distributor accounts
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
• Process payroll and ensure timely statutory payments (SSNIT, PAYE, VAT, NHIL, etc.)
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Maintain inventory-related financial records in collaboration with operations and warehouse teams
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for management
• Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) regulations and other statutory bodies
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Monitor company expenses and recommend cost-control measures

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in accounting (experience in agribusiness is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax laws and financial regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification (ACCA, ICA Ghana, or CIMA)
