Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team at Solidarités International in Amhara, Ethiopia. Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the M&E Officer will be responsible for monitoring activity implementation, collecting data, and providing evidence of program progress and achievements.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Evaluation Planning and Organization

• Participate in the logistics and administrative organization, planning, and preparation of M&E missions
• Contribute to the creation of monitoring tools and preparation of database frameworks based on questionnaires
• Support the team leader in centralizing and organizing data collection for activities and outputs as defined in the M&E plan

Data Collection and Quality Assurance

• Collect monitoring data using SI tools at field level, including overseeing surveys and ensuring all relevant aspects are covered
• Ensure timely data entry and verify consistency and quality of all information
• Maintain the database following standard formats to enable data aggregation for routine and periodic monitoring reports

Program Monitoring and Analysis

• Identify potential negative impacts of activities
• Monitor that crosscutting aspects such as gender and "do no harm" principles are integrated into activities
• Monitor the humanitarian situation
• Formulate preliminary recommendations for activity improvements

Capacity Building and Support

• With the support of the PM and MEAL team, prepare and implement trainings on monitoring tools for field officers
• Assist in external M&E missions

Reporting and Documentation

• Draft M&E reports and provide project updates and recommendations as necessary
• Ensure that contractual data about programs is easily available upon request
• Participate in seminars and training workshops relevant to monitoring and evaluation activities

Security and Compliance

• Apply security procedures in the context of monitoring and evaluation missions
