GIZ is undergoing a reorganization worldwide and in Ethiopia in preparation for the S4GIZ-System. Starting January 1, 2026, the administration of GIZ projects globally will be managed through dedicated Service Units in collaboration with the respective country offices. In Ethiopia, three Service Units have been established, one for each Cluster. The Climate Change Cluster Service Unit (CCC-SU) is one of these three Service Units created under the new S4GIZ-System. The CCC-SU will efficiently support 15 projects within the Cluster. Additionally, the Cluster will be responsible for managing the Service Units in the Regional Offices located in Hawassa, Jigjiga, Bahir Dar, Arba Minch, Jinka, and Gambella.The CCC-SU is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Finance Specialist, with the duty station in Addis AbabaCore Tasks:You manage all job orders within your area of responsibility and serve as the primary point of contact for advising managers and staff on all matters related to your thematic area.You provide specialist technical support to colleagues in bands 2 and 3 and ensure the quality and consistency of outputs within the unit.You clearly communicate applicable requirements, conditions, limitations, and restrictions related to your mandate and decision-making authority.You coordinate the contract award process, carry out related tasks in compliance with applicable legal, contractual, socio-political, and corporate policy requirements, and monitor the implementation and fulfilment of contracts.You contribute to the further development of tools and instruments and ensure that innovations, updates, and changes are appropriately integrated.You ensure that matters within your area of responsibility are addressed promptly and professionally, resolving routine issues in line with existing rules and escalating more complex challenges to the team as appropriate.You actively contribute to ongoing process improvements within your remit and are responsible for knowledge management, including preparing, maintaining, and sharing relevant documentation.Where required, you support other experts in familiarizing themselves with procedures and in performing their assigned tasks.You carry out additional tasks as assigned by your line manager. Areas of responsibility are assigned by the Head of Unit and may be adjusted based on operational needs of the country office.Main ActivitiesProcurement ResponsibilityReceives and reviews purchase requests for clarity, compliance, detail completeness, and obtains additional information, as required.Purchasing of materials requested as per the specification provided with the right price and confirm delivery to the store by ensuring proper documentationSupport internal controls for projects by ensuring that documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with organizational policies, and by providing relevant information to the Controller to enable effective oversight and compliance.Serve as a liaison betw...
