Job Title: MechanicReporting To: Maintenance SupervisorDepartment: MaintenanceLocation: SEIPL near DukemOverall Objective of the JobTo ensure uninterrupted production by maintaining machines, molds, ancillaries, and utilities in optimal working condition. The role focuses on preventive, autonomous, and reactive maintenance to achieve standard machine capacity, minimize downtime, control maintenance costs, and ensure a safe working environment.Key Roles and Responsibilities (KPI Based)  1. Preventive & Autonomous MaintenancePerform Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) of machines, molds, ancillaries, and utilities as per approved schedule.Update maintenance reports and work orders upon completion.KPI: Machine Availability Rate  2. Maintenance PlanningDevelop AM and PM schedules and submit for approval.Ensure strict adherence to maintenance calendar.KPI: Availability Rate  3. Proactive MaintenanceRaise maintenance requests for proactive servicing with Supervisor/Manager approval.Ensure work orders are updated after completion.KPI: Availability Rate  4. Reactive MaintenanceInform Supervisor immediately and initiate corrective actions in case of breakdown.Complete and update work orders accordingly.KPI: Availability Rate  5. Equipment ReadinessEnsure all machines, molds, ancillaries, and utilities are ready for production at all times.KPI: Availability Rate  6. Spare Parts & Inventory ManagementPrepare and maintain spare parts list and minimum stock levels.Coordinate with store to monitor stock levels.Forecast and request imported spare parts at least three months in advance.KPI: Repair & Maintenance Cost Control  7. External Job Work ManagementIdentify need for outsourced repair work and obtain quotations.Prepare job work documentation and secure approvals.Monitor progress and quality of outsourced jobs.KPI: Repair & Maintenance Cost Control  8. Training & Team DevelopmentPrepare training calendar and train assistants as per process requirements.Maintain training records and monitor assistant performance.KPI: Skill Development  9. Maintenance Analysis & ImprovementConduct weekly and monthly analysis of reactive maintenance.Prepare improvement plans and implement after HOD approval.KPI: Availability Rate  10. Cost OptimizationAnalyze maintenance expenses and power cost per kg with HOD.Develop and implement action plans to reduce maintenance and energy costs.KPI: Repair & Maintenance Cost Reduction  11. Safety & ComplianceEnsure machines operate at standard capacity levels.Maintain proper maintenance hygiene.Comply with all safety policies and procedures.Ensure safety of team members during maintenance work.KPI: Safety Compliance & Work Discipline  12. General ResponsibilitiesFollow instructions from senior management in the best interest of the company.Plan and approve assistant leave schedules based on workload.
