Facilities Maintenance Technician – Job DescriptionReports to: Facilities CoordinatorPosition OverviewThe Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing day-to-day preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities across the school campus. The role ensures that all buildings, utilities, equipment, and grounds operate at optimal performance to support a safe, compliant, and conducive learning environment. This position requires strong technical competency, proactive maintenance practices, and adherence to international school operational standards.Key Responsibilities1. Multi‑Trade Preventive and Routine MaintenanceExecute scheduled preventive maintenance across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, metal works, and construction-related systems.Perform routine inspection and servicing of classrooms, laboratories, offices, generator rooms, playground facilities, toilets, and all school buildings.Maintain all Preventive and Routine Maintenance checklists.2. Electrical Systems – Installation, Repair, and UpgradesInstall, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, distribution boards, sockets, lighting systems, protection devices, and power outlets.Execute repair and installation works for classrooms, offices, labs, generator rooms, toilets, and exterior lighting (security and field lighting).Support generator operations, including load tests, fuel monitoring, ATS panel checks, and basic servicing.3. Plumbing and Sanitary SystemsInstall, maintain, and repair water supply lines, sanitary pipes, drainage systems, water tanks, valves, pumps, and fixtures.Address leakage, clogging, low‑pressure issues, and plumbing system failures in classrooms, toilets, cafeterias, staff offices, and staff common areas.Support preventive maintenance of school-wide WASH facilities.4. Carpentry, Wood Works, Welding, and Metal FabricationPerform carpentry repairs including furniture restoration, cabinet installation, door/window repairs, and general wood works.Carry out welding and metal fabrication works for gates, support frames, protective covers, benches, barriers, and metal structural elements.Fabricate, install, and repair metal and wood components for classrooms, sports facilities, and school campus infrastructure.5. Construction, Masonry, and Facility Structural WorksExecute minor construction works including block work, plastering, tiling, concrete patching, and painting.Repair cracks, surface deterioration, flooring issues, steps, walkways, and boundary structures.Support installation and repair of playground equipment, sports field components, and external campus structures.6. Emergency Maintenance and Rapid ResponseRespond immediately to urgent electrical, plumbing, structural, and mechanical failures.Troubleshoot and resolve issues that disrupt teaching, safety, or operational continuity.Communicate high‑risk or repeated failures to the Facilities Manager promptly.7.
