Machapala Group is recruiting for its subsidiary, Machame Refineries, a fast-growing energy company commissioning a state-of-the-art pyrolysis plant in Nyenga, Jinja. The plant will convert waste tyres and plastics into pyrolysis oil and other sustainable fuels, contributing to industrial energy solutions and circular economy development.

Position Overview

This role represents an excellent career development opportunity. The HSEQ & Compliance Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining health, safety, environmental, and quality systems to ensure zero harm operations and full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HSEQ policies, procedures, and management systems effectively
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and sustain compliance standards
• Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; implement corrective actions
• Establish and test emergency preparedness plans and response systems
• Ensure staff training, awareness, and compliance with HSE standards

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or NEBOSH International Diploma
• Minimum 3 years' experience in industrial HSEQ
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and safety systems
• Highly competent, disciplined, and results-oriented approach
