About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join FIDA Uganda as a Legal Associate. In this role, you will support the implementation of legal aid and advocacy interventions by assisting Legal Officers in case management, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.
Job Purpose
The Legal Associate will support the implementation of legal aid and advocacy interventions by assisting Legal Officers in case management, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monitoring and documentation of legal interventions
- Assist in preparing activity and periodic reports
- Identify emerging advocacy issues within communities
- Support the development of partnerships with government and civil society actors
- Engage district stakeholders to advance gender justice
- Support coordination of project activities and outreach initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (completed or in progress)
Required Skills
- Mediation, negotiation, and arbitration skills
- Strong analytical and research abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with government, civil society organizations (CSOs), and community actors
