Dispatch Officers – Abattoir

About the Position

Biyinzika Poultry International is seeking a skilled Dispatch Officer for our Abattoir facility. The Dispatch Officer is responsible for the accurate, timely, and secure dispatch of dressed chicken products from cold rooms and chillers to delivery trucks. This role ensures correct quantities, proper quality and temperature maintenance, accurate documentation, and fraud prevention. The position holder must follow all established rules, regulations, and guidelines while achieving goals and targets set by Management.

Key Responsibilities

Product Handling

• Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures are followed
• Stage and load products correctly
• Retrieve products from cold rooms and chillers
• Maintain proper temperature control (0°C – 4°C)
• Prevent dispatch of damaged products
• Report quality issues immediately

Documentation & Accuracy

• Verify quantities against accompanying documents
• Ensure all documents are accurate and properly signed

Loading Control

• Ensure trucks are clean and pre-cooled before loading
• Load products correctly according to route requirements

Fraud Prevention

• Ensure no product leaves without proper documentation
• Verify all quantities before dispatch
• Report any discrepancies immediately

Coordination

• Work effectively with dispatch, cold room, driver, and sales teams
• Carry out any additional duties as requested by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, or related field, or relevant training in customer care

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in dispatch or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods)
• High level of integrity and honesty
