Position Overview
FIDA Uganda seeks a dedicated Legal Associate to support the implementation of legal aid and advocacy interventions in Iganga. The successful candidate will work alongside Legal Officers to strengthen access to justice and advance gender equality in the community.
Job Purpose
The Legal Associate will support the implementation of legal aid and advocacy interventions by assisting Legal Officers in case management, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monitoring and documentation of legal interventions
- Assist in preparing activity and periodic reports
- Identify emerging advocacy issues within communities
- Support the development of partnerships with government and civil society actors
- Engage district stakeholders to advance gender justice
- Support coordination of project activities and outreach initiatives
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (completed or in progress)
- 12 months of relevant experience
Required Skills
- Skills in mediation, negotiation, and arbitration
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with government, CSOs, and community actors
