About the Role

Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) Business School invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Lecturer in the Department of Economics and Management.

Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality teaching, research, and academic service in Economics, contributing to the University's mission of academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures in Economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Develop, review, and update course content in line with University and NCHE standards
• Conduct research and publish in reputable academic journals
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and dissertations
• Participate in curriculum development and academic planning
• Engage in community outreach and professional engagement activities
• Contribute to departmental and University administrative duties
• Utilize e-learning platforms and digital tools to support teaching and learning

Minimum Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Economics, Development Economics, or a closely related field (PhD is an added advantage)
• A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Quantitative Economics, Applied Economics, or related field
• Evidence of research and publications in recognized academic journals
• At least two (2) years' teaching experience at a recognized institution of higher learning
• Demonstrated ability to use e-learning platforms and digital teaching tools
• Professional qualifications in Economics or related disciplines (an added advantage)
