Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Business Development Officer for our Arusha Branch. In this role, you will be responsible for recruitment and management of borrowing customers under the Micro-SME segment (Kua Nasi, Agriculture & LaRiba) and ensure growth of a quality loan portfolio in accordance with the Bank's Credit Policy and Product Procedure Manuals.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Portfolio Growth

• Achieve branch targets for quality loan portfolio growth
• Onboard eligible borrowing customers according to Product Procedure Manuals
• Follow up on pipelines and sales leads to ensure maturity within agreed turnaround time
• Identify, explore, and negotiate business lending opportunities with existing and new customers
• Engage with external and internal business stakeholders to ensure the Bank's interests are properly presented and safeguarded

Credit Underwriting Functions

• Receive and review credit applications to ensure compliance with approved documentation checklists
• Liaise with CRC members to ensure eligible customers are visited for information validation, business assessment, and collateral verification
• Conduct credit appraisal assessments of Micro-SME applications to determine creditworthiness in line with Product Procedure Manuals
• Ensure all credit applications forwarded to HQ for approval are reviewed, discussed, and deliberated by the CRC as per established procedures
• Address all issues or queries raised by HQ in collaboration with CRC while maintaining procedural compliance

Loan Portfolio Management

• Monitor approved loans to ensure adherence to approved terms and conditions
