Technician (Industrial Maintenance)

Job Purpose

To perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, primarily mechanical with basic electrical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults (bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics)
• Assist electricians with basic electrical tasks (sensor replacement, motor connections, checking fuses)
• Perform routine inspections, lubrication, alignment, and vibration analysis
• Use CMMS to log work orders, labor hours, and parts usage
• Participate in root cause analysis of breakdowns
• Fabricate small components using lathe, mill, or welder as needed
• Maintain housekeeping and safety around machinery
• Respond to breakdown calls promptly

Qualifications

• Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting & Turning, or Mechatronics
• Basic electrical safety certification (e.g., safe isolation, LOTO awareness)

Experience

2–4 years in industrial mechanical maintenance (conveyors, pumps, presses, packaging lines, crushers, etc.)

Required Competencies

• Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime
