Operational manager

About the Role

Rift Valley Cooperative Union (RIVACU Ltd) is seeking a qualified Operational Manager to join our team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the General Manager.

Nature and Scope

The Operational Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the union, including production, logistics, storage, processing, and marketing of members' agricultural products.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the General Manager on crop production and operational activities
• Manage stores and warehouses for agricultural inputs
• Plan and implement procurement and logistics for cotton and other crops
• Coordinate marketing activities for agricultural produce
• Analyze and act on information related to production, processing, and marketing
• Provide training to farmers through field/extension officers
• Promote value chain development for members' agricultural products
• Prepare seasonal budgets for farm inputs
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agro-Economics, or related field (required)
• Master's degree (advantageous)
• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in a similar role
