Assistant Lecturer - Wildlife

About the Position

Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) is seeking a qualified Assistant Lecturer in Wildlife to join our team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to contribute to undergraduate education and research in wildlife sciences.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Undergo an induction course in pedagogic skills for those without prior teaching experience
• Carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars, and practicals for undergraduate programmes
• Prepare and present case studies
• Conduct and publish/disseminate research results
• Recognize students experiencing difficulties and provide appropriate help and support
• Participate in consultancies and community services under supervision
• Attend workshops, conferences, and symposia
• Perform other duties as assigned by relevant authorities

Qualifications

Candidates must hold:

• Master of Science Degree in Wildlife Management, Zoology, Biology, Ecology, Ecosystem Management, Conservation Science, or Herpetology with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5 from a recognized university
• Bachelor's Degree in Zoology, Biology, Wildlife Management, or Environmental Science with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 from a recognized university
• A minimum grade of B+ in either Herpetology (Amphibians/Reptiles) or Vertebrate Zoology
