Agri Tech Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Agri Tech Specialist to provide technical support as an agronomy specialist in Tanzania. This role covers all crops in the country and supports new origination programme initiatives. Working closely with the in-country team's agronomists, field officers, and extension officers, you will deliver required production volumes per crop, lead problem-solving efforts, and drive crop quality and yield improvement initiatives to ensure cost competitiveness on a per-crop, year-on-year basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Support technical skill development of the in-country team by identifying skill gaps and collaborating with the Country Manager to identify and develop suitable training solutions
• Conduct technical training where needed to enhance team capabilities
• Guide trial managers in research and development work and execution
• Work closely with the R&D specialist Africa in identifying research requirements to improve crop yield and quality
• Lead problem-solving efforts to enhance crop performance
• Drive crop quality and yield improvement initiatives
