Production Manager

Job Purpose

To manage daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, cost efficiency, and safety regulations are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production runs based on sales forecasts and inventory levels
• Monitor production metrics (OEE, throughput, scrap rates, downtime) and implement improvements
• Lead, train, and appraise shift supervisors and production line staff
• Enforce quality control procedures and address non-conformances
• Manage material usage, reduce waste, and control operating costs
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations
• Collaborate with maintenance and logistics to reduce downtime
• Report production KPIs to senior management weekly

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred

Required Experience

• 5+ years in production supervision or management (manufacturing, packaging, or assembly industry)
• Proven track record of improving efficiency and reducing costs

Required Competencies

• Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
• Data-driven decision making (Excel, ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics)
• Problem-solving methodology (5 Whys, root cause analysis, PDCA)
