Maintenance Electrician

Job Purpose

To install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and control panels in an industrial environment, ensuring minimal downtime and full compliance with safety codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment including motors (single/three-phase), drives, switchgear, lighting, and control circuits
• Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, meggers, clamp meters, and schematic diagrams
• Replace or repair faulty wiring, components, and control devices (PLCs, relays, sensors, contactors)
• Inspect and test emergency stop systems, grounding, and electrical safety devices
• Assist in installing new machinery and modifying existing electrical layouts
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work order records
• Comply with lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), NFPA 70E, and local electrical codes
• Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Electricity
• Valid electrician license (Journeyman or Master Electrician)

Required Experience

• 3–6 years in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
• Experience with VFDs, soft starters, and control panels

Required Competencies

• Strong analytical and fault-finding skills
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Attention to safety and detail
