Position Overview

Sotta Mining Corporation Limited is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer – Compliance to join our dynamic team at Nyanza Mine Site. In this critical role, you will serve as the legally appointed Electrical Engineer – Compliance, ensuring adherence to all mining and electrical legislation.

Position Details

• Location: Nyanza Mine Site, Sengerema District, Tanzania
• Reports to: Electrical & Instrumentation Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the legally appointed Electrical Engineer – Compliance for the site, ensuring compliance with mining and electrical legislation
• Ensure electrical works meet site standards as dictated by Tanzania Electricity Rules 1932 and Tanzania Electrical Act 2008
• Oversee the design, installation, maintenance, and inspection of all electrical systems, including high-voltage distribution, underground cabling, and fixed plant equipment up to 11kV
• Lead the design and approval of High Voltage Switching Procedures in line with Site Isolation Procedures
• Oversee and ensure compliance with the Site-Specific High Voltage Safety Management Plan
• Ensure all Power System Protection Settings are current and applicable for High and Low Voltage Installations on Feeders, Incomers, and Outgoing Circuit Breakers
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and inspectors to ensure ongoing compliance
• Maintain accurate records of electrical inspections, test results, and maintenance schedules
• Lead incident investigations related to electrical systems and implement corrective actions
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to electricians, apprentices, and contractors
• Report to Electrical Supervisors and Senior Personnel any irregularities discovered during execution of duties

Required Qualifications

• Recognized Trade Certificate, Engineering Diploma, or Degree in Electrical Engineering
