About the Organization

The Weights and Measures Agency (WMA) is an Executive Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, established under the Executive Agencies Act, Cap. 245. The agency was formed as part of the Public Service Reform Programme aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness in public service delivery. WMA executes its responsibilities under the Weights and Measures Act, Cap. 340 and plays an important role in ensuring fairness, accuracy, and reliability in measurements used in trade and industry across Tanzania.

Position Overview

This is a volunteer position designed to provide young graduates with practical workplace exposure, skills development, and professional experience within the public sector environment. The Assistant Weights and Measures Officer will support the implementation of weights and measures operations and participate in field and office activities related to metrology services. This position offers a great opportunity for career growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Adjust and calibrate measuring instruments
• Care for and maintain working standards and equipment
• Mobilize working tools and equipment before and after field assignments
• Perform daily systems initialization and computer system backups
• Support field inspections and operational activities related to weights and measures services
• Maintain records and documentation

Required Qualifications
