Assistant Lecturer (Community Development)

About the Position

Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) is seeking a dedicated Assistant Lecturer in Community Development to join our growing organization that values talent and commitment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Undergo an induction course in pedagogic skills for those without prior teaching experience
• Carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars, and practical sessions for undergraduate programmes
• Prepare and present case studies
• Conduct and publish/disseminate research results
• Recognize students having difficulties, intervene, and provide help and support
• Participate in consultancies and community services under supervision
• Attend workshops, conferences, and symposia
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities

Qualifications

Applicants must hold:

• A Master's Degree in Community Development, Community Economic Development, or Cooperatives and Community Development with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5 from a recognized university
• A Bachelor's Degree in Community Development, Community Economic Development, Rural Development, or Development Studies with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 from a recognized university
