Position Overview

The Machinist will report to the Machining and Fabrication Supervisor and will be responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision mechanical parts and components required for maintenance, repair, and production support within the factory.

The role requires practical skills in machining operations, equipment setup, tool selection, and interpretation of technical drawings. The selected candidate will ensure accurate production of components using lathe, milling, drilling, and shaping machines while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate lathe, milling, drilling, and shaping machines to produce precision mechanical parts
• Set up machines and select appropriate cutting tools for machining operations
• Adjust machine settings to meet required specifications
• Prepare tools required for machining activities
• Report any lost or damaged tools to the supervisor
• Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication
• Prepare spare parts lists to support smooth machine operations
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Maintain records of work completed, materials used, and machine performance
• Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of the workshop area
• Conduct basic machining calculations for production accuracy
• Perform any other lawful duties assigned by supervisors
