## Title: Bookkeeper – Tourism & Transport

About Sisonke Tourism and Events

Sisonke Tourism and Events Services is a growing, service-driven tourism and transport company delivering curated travel experiences across South Africa. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our financial operations and contribute to our long-term growth.

Position Overview

This is a key in-office role responsible for the full bookkeeping function across multiple operational streams, including tourism services, transport logistics, and hospitality-related activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment.

Location: Mowbray / Observatory, Cape Town
Work Type: Full-Time, In-Office (Monday–Friday)
Salary: R18,000 – R30,000 per month (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
  • Managing debtors and creditors, including reconciliations
  • VAT calculations, submissions, and compliance
  • Payroll processing and statutory requirements
  • Supplier payments and cash flow coordination
  • Bank reconciliations and financial controls
  • Supporting monthly reporting and financial administration

Requirements

  • 3–5 years' bookkeeping experience (Intermediate level)
  • Proven experience within the tourism, transport, or hospitality industry
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage Accounting (non-negotiable)
  • Solid understanding of VAT and payroll processes
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proactive, solutions-driven mindset
