Key Responsibilities

• Bank Reconciliations & Data Capturing: Accurate capturing and processing of bank statements on the Pastel accounting system, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and reconciled
• Trial Balance Management: Prepare and review trial balances, identify discrepancies, reconcile accounts, and ensure all entries are correctly allocated and balanced
• Financial Statement Preparation: Compile and interpret financial statements, including Income Statements and Balance Sheets, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit personal and company tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and deadlines
• EMP201 Submissions: Calculate and submit EMP201 returns accurately, including PAYE, UIF, and SDL obligations
• EMP501 Reconciliations: Complete EMP501 reconciliations and submissions via the SARS eFiling / e@syFile system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SARS requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Relevant accounting qualification or equivalent experience
• Proficiency with Pastel accounting system
• Strong understanding of trial balance preparation and review
• Knowledge of SARS compliance and tax regulations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
