## Title: SAIT Tax Professional Intern

About the Position

Vevegan James and Associates is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a SAIT Internship Candidate for the Tax Professional designation. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring tax specialist to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in a professional accounting and tax environment.

Location

Queensburgh, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of various tax returns (ITR12, ITR14, VAT201, and EMP201)
  • Conduct tax research and stay updated on the latest SARS legislation and tax amendments
  • Assist with tax dispute resolutions, including drafting objections and appeals
  • Maintain accurate client tax records and ensure strict compliance with statutory deadlines
  • Support the senior tax team with administrative tasks and client consultations

Requirements

Education

  • Completed or near-completion of a relevant tertiary qualification in Taxation or Accounting that meets the SAIT entry requirements

Professional Alignment

  • Must be eligible and committed to registering for the SAIT Tax Professional occupational qualification

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel is essential)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Advantageous Skills

  • Familiarity with SARS eFiling
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage)
