Project Background

The Egg Value Chain project is funded by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and aligns with its seven-year flagship program, Combating Malnutrition in Rwanda through Sustainable Food Systems (CMRFS) (2025–2031). The project is implemented in partnership with DUHAMIC-ADRI in the districts of Karongi, Nyamasheke, and Rusizi.

Project Scope

DUHAMIC-ADRI will work with 18,000 vulnerable households across the three districts to enhance their access to improved poultry inputs and strengthen their capacity for sustainable egg production. At the grassroots level, the project will collaborate with 720 lead farmers trained by the project to cascade training on good farming practices to project participants.

Project activities will be implemented in 15 sectors: 5 sectors in Karongi District (Rugabano, Ruganda, Gashari, Rwankuba, and Bwishyura), 5 sectors in Nyamasheke District (Rangiro, Bushekeri, Karengera, Kirimbi, and Kagano), and 5 sectors in Rusizi District.

Scope of Work

The consultant or firm is required to conduct mapping and profiling of project participants and perform a quick assessment on the profitability and adaptability of SASSO breed chickens in the specified districts of Western Province, Rwanda.
