Operations Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an interested, qualified, committed, and competent candidate for the position of Operations Manager. This role reports to the Chief Transport Operations Officer.

Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Number of Positions: 1

Main Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Transport Operations Officer in managing transport operations
• Manage day-to-day activities and provide regular reports to the Chief Transport Operations Officer
• Receive and address customer and passenger complaints
• Respond to phone calls from drivers at any hour of the day
• Review and arrange all transportation paperwork, including driver logs, driver trip reports, and invoices
• Develop and implement effective asset management systems, equipment maintenance programs, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the business to achieve revenue targets and operating budgets
• Oversee the deployment of buses on various routes
• Collaborate with the Chief Finance Officer to ensure all cash collections are remitted and banked intact each evening
• Supervise the use of POS machines by booking clerks
• Manage deployment and replacement of drivers

Required Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, or Human Resource Management
• Knowledge of the functions, operations, and mission of transport companies
• Better than average written and spoken communication skills
• Eligible to work throughout Rwanda
• Fluent in English, Kinyarwanda, and French

Preferred Experience

• Management experience in a team-oriented workplace
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization's management team
