Africa Humanitarian Action (AHA) is an International Humanitarian Non-governmental Organisation providing effective humanitarian assistance to alleviate human suffering. AHA has been operating for 32 years, building the strength of African people to solve African problems. AHA is a partner of the Government of Rwanda (MINEMA & UNHCR), providing comprehensive Primary Health Care, Nutrition and HIV/AIDS services to refugees in Gashora, and Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) services in Kigeme, Kiziba, and Mugombwa.
Position Details
- Location: Kigali, Rwanda
- Job Title: Finance Officer
- Contract Duration: 1 year, renewable
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Positions Available: 1
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in Accounting or Finance in Public or Private Institutions
- Preferably previous experience in an NGO working with refugees or displaced populations
- Rwandan nationality
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in Petty Cash, Cash Book, and Bank Reconciliation
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Excellent understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles and practices
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with colleagues from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
- Strategic and creative thinking abilities
- Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English, with French knowledge advantageous
Additional Assets
- CPA or CAT Level 2 certification
- Previous experience working with refugees or displaced populations
