Project Description

King Faisal Hospital Rwanda Foundation (KFHRF) invites qualified insurance companies to submit proposals for comprehensive medical insurance coverage of KFHRF staff and dependents.

Scope of Services

The assignment includes the following deliverables:

• Provision of medical insurance with choice of either:
  • Option 1: Fund Management Package
  • Option 2: Full Insured Package
• Comprehensive coverage including:
  • Inpatient, maternity, and outpatient services
  • Dental and optical benefits
  • Chronic, pre-existing, and HIV/AIDS conditions
  • Emergency evacuation within Rwanda, EAC, and referral to India and other countries if necessary
  • Family planning, immunization, pre-employment tests, and COVID-19 treatment
  • Psychiatric, neonatal, congenital, and other special cover requirements
• Claims management, provider network, and policy administration, including:
  • Premium calculation
  • Co-payment management
  • Reporting of utilization and loss ratio
• Clear comparison of the two options (Fund Management vs Full Insurance) with estimated annual premium and conditions

Eligibility Criteria

The RFP is open to insurance companies with demonstrated experience in:

• Managing large-scale medical insurance schemes for corporate or institutional clients
• Fund management and/or fully insured schemes with proven claim management efficiency
• Regional or international health insurance coverage networks

Submission Requirements

Interested companies must submit soft copies including:

• Submission letter addressed to the Executive Secretary of the Foundation
• Company registration certificate, physical address, and company profile (for consortia, profile of lead entity only)
• Evidence of capacity to deliver, including good performance certificates
