Technical Services Manager

About the Role

Wilderness Rwanda is seeking a Technical Services Manager to oversee daily maintenance and mechanical operations at Magashi Concession in Akagera National Park. This role requires someone with strong technical competencies who can effectively manage facilities and teams in a remote hospitality environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Maintenance and Mechanical Department, ensuring effective delivery of planned maintenance and reactive repairs
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks for all facilities, including mechanical systems, vehicle maintenance, electrical systems, plumbing, solar systems, generators, refrigeration equipment, swimming pools, and general building upkeep
• Manage and supervise the maintenance team, actively working with them to ensure all assignments are completed effectively
• Conduct periodic meetings with team members to ensure effective task allocation and maintain proper communication records
• Implement preventive services and repairs for vehicles and boats in a cost-effective and safe manner
• Establish preventive and maintenance measures for generators, electrical boards, solar plants, and solar geysers
• Manage back-of-house facilities, concession systems, and coordinate with camp hands team
• Assist Management with Environmental Management System (EMS) online recording
• Work with the Concession Manager on projects involving Magashi Concession
• Facilitate training and capacity building for the maintenance and mechanical team, leading by example
• Adhere to environmental management standards

Requirements

• Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field is an added advantage
