About COOPEC IKIRENGA
COOPEC IKIRENGA is a Financial Service Cooperative operating in the Northern Province of Rwanda, supervised by the National Bank of Rwanda. The organization was formed in 2024 through the merger of five SACCOs (COOPEC ITI, COOPEC CODEMARU, CSTCR SACCO, CSPKI, and TRASO), which now operate as its branches. The headquarters is located in Rulindo district, Base Sector, Rwamahwa Cell, Base Village.
Position Overview
COOPEC IKIRENGA is recruiting a qualified Central Loan Recovery Officer to join its team. This position operates under the supervision and guidance of the Head of Credit.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor overdue and defaulted loans to provide timely recommendations on appropriate measures
- Ensure adherence to all procedures regarding delinquent loans
- Prepare reports on overdue loans for internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with loan recovery officers at branches to gather information on reasons for late repayments and determine appropriate measures and next steps
- Conduct home and business site visits for overdue and/or defaulted members
- Manage late repayment cases and take responsibility for recovery actions
- Interact with legal representatives and proceed with mortgage receivership processes in RDB EMRS
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Head of Credit
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance and Banking, Accounting, or a relevant field
- Minimum one year of work experience in credit function in the financial industry, preferably in microfinance institutions
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of branch operations, organizational rules and regulations, and applicable laws
- Knowledge of loan granting procedures and credit risk management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
