Machapala Group is recruiting for its subsidiary, Machame Refineries, a fast-growing energy company commissioning a state-of-the-art pyrolysis plant in Nyenga, Jinja. The plant will convert waste tyres and plastics into pyrolysis oil and other sustainable fuels, contributing to industrial energy solutions and circular economy development.

Position Overview

This role represents an excellent career development opportunity. The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems, including reactors, condensers, and auxiliary units, ensuring production processes run within defined parameters and meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment and systems within defined temperature, pressure, and safety limits in accordance with established procedures
• Execute start-up, steady-state, and shutdown operations effectively in line with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Accurately record and maintain process parameters, operational data, and shift logbooks
• Promptly identify, report, and escalate equipment abnormalities such as leaks, vibrations, or unusual readings
• Conduct routine inspections and line walks to ensure operational integrity of the plant
• Consistently maintain housekeeping standards and 5S practices across operational areas
• Strictly adhere to safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Requirements

• Technical certificate or diploma in process, production, or mechanical engineering
