Senior Water Officer (Monitoring And Assessment)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join the Public Service Commission as a Senior Water Officer specializing in Monitoring and Assessment. The incumbent will report to the Principal Water Officer – Monitoring and Assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and review of national policies focusing on the monitoring and assessment of water resources
• Participate in the review and updating of national strategic plans for water resources monitoring and assessment
• Support the operation, development, and maintenance of water quantity monitoring networks
• Participate in the development and implementation of water resources and land use guidelines in the sector
• Participate in research and development of area-based water resources management plans
• Participate in the assessment of water resources in the country
• Participate in the initiation and management of mitigation plans, guidelines, and measures against disasters (floods and droughts)
• Participate in the management and dissemination of information on water resources
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

• Honours Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or any other Water Sciences discipline from a recognized university or institution
• Must be a Ugandan national

Experience Required

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience
• Experience must have been served as a Water Officer in Government
• Minimum age: 24 years
