Position Overview

This role represents an excellent career development opportunity. The Head of Secondary School will report to the School Board and be responsible to the Parish Council through the School Committee. You will be responsible for preserving and achieving the vision and mission of Jerusalem Secondary School while ensuring academic excellence, spiritual growth, discipline, and holistic development of students.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversee daily school operations
• Guide and support teachers and staff in their professional development
• Maintain high standards in academics, administration, discipline, and co-curricular activities
• Supervise curriculum implementation and ensure alignment with Tanzania Secondary Education standards
• Manage student discipline and behavioral policies
• Oversee financial and administrative operations
• Lead and mentor staff both professionally and spiritually

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field
• Registered teacher with TSC (Teachers Service Commission)
• Minimum 8–10 years' experience in education
• At least 5 years in a leadership position in a secondary school
• Strong understanding of the Tanzania Secondary Education curriculum
• Proven ability to improve academic performance and school discipline
• Experience supervising teachers and managing students

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in education or related field
• Experience working in a Christian school environment
