Fitter Mechanics – Boiler

About the Company

Mkulazi Holding Company Limited (MHCL) is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Fitter Mechanics – Boiler. The successful candidates will report to the Senior Technician and will support maintenance, fitting, repair, and installation activities for boiler systems and auxiliary mechanical equipment within factory operations.

Position Overview

This role requires practical technical skills in mechanical fitting, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe handling of industrial tools and machinery. You will support efficient plant operations by ensuring mechanical systems are properly maintained, inspected, repaired, and operated according to safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of mechanical systems and components
• Perform fitting, assembling, installation, and alignment of boiler systems and auxiliary equipment including pumps, fans, conveyors, gearboxes, turbines, valves, and pipework
• Repair, replace, and adjust faulty mechanical components such as bearings, gears, shafts, pumps, and couplings
• Operate heavy-duty hand and power tools safely and effectively during maintenance works
• Fabricate simple metal structures and components for repair and maintenance activities
• Participate in machinery overhauls, shutdown maintenance, and major repair works
• Assist in installation and testing of new mechanical equipment
• Maintain proper housekeeping and safe working conditions during maintenance activities
• Report machine defects and abnormalities to the Senior Technician
