About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated hospitality professional to join our team at a busy corporate canteen situated within the head office of a well-known retail brand in Cape Town CBD. Our canteen provides employees with an à la carte breakfast and lunch menu, specialty coffees, baked goods, and a tuck shop offering. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Location and Hours

Location: Cape Town CBD

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 14:30

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality breakfast and lunch menu items
• Prepare specialty coffees and beverages when required
• Operate the Pilot Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently
• Assist with food preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness
• Manage stock and assist with daily operational requirements
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times
• Work alongside and assist the team in all areas of the business
• Help maintain the quality and consistency of the kitchen offering

Requirements

• Proven experience in the catering, hospitality, food service, or restaurant industry
• Experience preparing delicious, high-quality basic meals
• Ability to prepare and serve quality coffee
• Experience working on a Pilot Point of Sale system (advantageous)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for hospitality
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a team
• Reliable, professional, and well-presented
