Job Description
Electrofax Engineering Services (GH) Limited is seeking to recruit Electrical Engineer.
Position Title: Electrical Engineer – Transmission Line & Substation
Job Purpose
To provide technical engineering support for design review, construction supervision, testing, commissioning, and energization of the 161kV transmission line and substation relocation works.
Key Responsibilities
- Review transmission line and substation engineering designs.
- Verify compliance with utility standards and applicable codes.
- Supervise installation of transmission line structures, conductors, insulators, OPGW, and accessories.
- Monitor substation equipment installation, including transformers, switchgear, CTs, PTs, protection systems, and control equipment.
- Witness factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Review protection and control schemes.
- Conduct inspections and technical assessments during construction.
- Resolve technical issues arising during construction and commissioning.
- Verify as-built documentation and engineering records.
- Participate in system testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements and permit-to-work systems.
- BSc in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in HV transmission line and substation projects.
- Experience with transmission line relocation, substations, protection systems, and commissioning.
- Membership of a recognized professional engineering institution is desirable.
- Experience working on high-voltage transmission and substation projects (161kV or above preferred).
- Strong knowledge of utility standards, engineering codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and remote project locations.
- Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering/project management software.
- Commitment to quality, safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work under demanding schedules while maintaining high professional standards.

- Technical troubleshooting.
- Engineering documentation and reporting.
