About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated hospitality professional to join our team at a busy corporate canteen situated within the head office of a well-known retail brand in Cape Town CBD. Our canteen provides employees with an à la carte breakfast and lunch menu, specialty coffees, baked goods, and a tuck shop offering. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Location and Hours
Location: Cape Town CBD
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 14:30
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality breakfast and lunch menu items
- Prepare specialty coffees and beverages when required
- Operate the Pilot Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently
- Assist with food preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness
- Manage stock and assist with daily operational requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service at all times
- Work alongside and assist the team in all areas of the business
- Help maintain the quality and consistency of the kitchen offering
Requirements
- Proven experience in the catering, hospitality, food service, or restaurant industry
- Experience preparing delicious, high-quality basic meals
- Ability to prepare and serve quality coffee
- Experience working on a Pilot Point of Sale system (advantageous)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for hospitality
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Reliable, professional, and well-presented
