About the Organization

The Ghana Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) is inviting applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians for director-level positions within the council.

Positions Available

• Director of CSIR-Water Research Institute (WRI)
• Director of CSIR-Institute of Industrial Research (IIR)

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Head of the Institute and report to the Director-General for day-to-day administration of institute affairs
• Establish effective linkages with relevant institutions and agencies within and outside CSIR
• Coordinate prioritized research of the institute under the broad guidance of the Director-General
• Promote technology transfer to industry and agricultural business, and commercialization of research
• Coordinate research funding initiatives and provide services to determine research priorities
• Formulate and implement science and technology plans
• Manage and develop the human resource base of the institute

Required Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent qualification in Biological, Physical, and Engineering Sciences or related discipline from a recognized university or institute (for CSIR-WRI position)
• PhD or equivalent qualification in Engineering Sciences and Physical Sciences from a recognized university or institution (for CSIR-IIR position)
• Minimum 12 years of experience in Research and Development (R&D)
• At least 5 years of successful experience in a management position
• Distinguished research contribution as evidenced by scientific publications
