Position Overview

The NICU Nurse at Teklehaimanot General Hospital plays a critical role in providing specialized care for newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit. This full-time position focuses on patient care and monitoring to ensure the health and well-being of infants. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality medical attention and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the health status of neonates, documenting changes and progress
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Provide direct patient care, including feeding, bathing, and dressing infants
• Maintain and operate medical equipment used in neonatal care
• Educate parents on infant care, feeding techniques, and developmental milestones
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Assist in emergency procedures and interventions as needed
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures related to patient safety and care standards
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
