About People in Need

People in Need is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded on the ideals of humanity, freedom, equality and solidarity. Established in 1992 by a group of Czech war correspondents, journalists and activists, it has grown to become one of the largest non-profit organizations in Central and Eastern Europe.

Throughout 30 years of existence, People in Need continues to engage in humanitarian aid, development cooperation, education and social inclusion. The organization has been operating in Ethiopia since 2003, working across five regions: Oromia, South Ethiopia, Sidama, Amhara and Tigray in multi-sectoral projects focusing on development and emergency response.

People in Need's work in Ethiopia centers on five main areas of interest: Education, Agriculture, Climate and Environment, Water and Social Protection. The organization is part of Alliance 2015, a strategic network of seven European non-governmental organizations engaged in humanitarian aid and development projects.

Position Overview

Project Title: Recovery of Tigray region: sustainable livelihood through access to water and value chain development

Contract Length: Definite until December 31, 2027

Place of Work: Based in Agulae (Tsrae Wonberta Woreda), Tigray region with frequent field travel to PIN's project sites in different regions as required

Salary: 340 USD

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Coordinator in planning, needs assessment and identification activities
