Mining Superintendent

About the Role

Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC is seeking an experienced Mining Superintendent to oversee open pit mining operations. Reporting to the Mining Manager, this supervisory/managerial position requires a minimum of 5 years of mining experience. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in driving operational performance, workforce capability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily open pit mining operations to ensure achievement of production targets safely and efficiently
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards by mining teams
• Manage and coordinate mining contractors and operational teams
• Monitor and optimize drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities
• Drive production planning execution in alignment with short- and medium-term mine plans
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Ensure effective utilization of equipment and resources
• Develop and mentor supervisors and operational teams to build capability and performance
• Collaborate with technical services, maintenance, and other departments to ensure integrated operations
• Report on production performance, safety metrics, and operational challenges

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of mining operations experience
• Supervisory or managerial level experience
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
