Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our PVC manufacturing plant in Brackenfell. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure efficient and uninterrupted production. This role is ideal for someone with strong fault-finding abilities and experience in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment within the plant
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical components
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on production equipment such as extruders, mixers, and conveyor systems
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and basic PLC programs
• Maintain and repair control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, and motor control centres
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Test electrical systems using appropriate tools (multimeters, insulation testers, etc.)
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to optimise equipment performance
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety regulations, and company policies
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports

Required Qualifications

• Trade certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Electrical Work
• Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician, preferably in a manufacturing or plastics environment
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, and control panels
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals

Advantageous Experience

• Experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
• Familiarity with VFDs, sensors, and automation systems
